Following the latest Government Covid-19 update, further stores are now open at Monks Cross and we look forward to welcoming you back.  Please note that some stores are currently operating reduced opening hours therefore please check with individual stores on their opening times before visiting.

In line with the latest Government guidance on social distancing, we ask that you please observe the following measures during your visit to Monks Cross:

  • Maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from anyone
  • Do not shake hands
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth
  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue if you cough or sneeze (or use your sleeve)
  • Observe the social distancing visual cues and signage throughout Monks Cross
  • Be mindful of and respectful to our staff and customers at all times

 

We have also increased cleaning and all touch points within Monks Cross to ensure the safety of staff and visitors to Monks Cross. Our children’s play area and toilets remain closed at this point, but this will be reviewed inline with government guidance weekly. Access to disabled toilet and baby changing facilities can be gained from the Information Centre.

The toilets are open on a limited basis (not as many toilets available for use as normal) and a social distancing queuing system is in place as well as an increased cleaning regime to ensure staff and customers remain safe.

For those travelling by car please note that the car park adjacent to Primark will be temporarily closed & the First York 9,12 & 14 service will now only stop at Asda.

As an Assistant Store Manager you will assist the Store Manager with managing the store on a daily basis, coaching and developing the team to ensure high standards of customer service are maintained, ensuring that excellent store standards are kept whilst adhering to Company policies and procedures.

Role Responsibility

  • Directly support Management in achieving budget target sales, ensuring excellent customer service is provided by all staff members
  • Actively support, develop and train the team of colleagues to feel ‘our values’ to ensure we are helping each customer celebrate their life moments to the highest standard
  • Have the ability to step up into the Store Manager role should the need arise
  • Continually improve store standards by ensuring the store is merchandised to Company guidelines and stock management is maintained

The Gift Giving Tree is back!


We are teaming up with York charity Snappy again over the festive period.  Shoppers are being asked to visit the Gift Giving Tree in Information Centre and collect a tag from the tree to donate a Christmas present.

 

Snappy is a registered charity working with children and young people of York with wide ranging disabilities, from learning difficulties to profound physical disabilities. The volunteers work to develop confidence, independence and social skills but mostly, to give the children and families the opportunity to enjoy new experience have fun and make friends.

 

Last year the presents donated by kind hearted shoppers made such a difference to the families SNAPPY works with and we are hope we can continue to make that difference this year too.

 

Join us at Monks Cross over the festive season and take part in our FREE events, taking place in the centre throughout December.

MONKS CROSS SHOPPING PARK SET FOR DAY OF SPOOKTACULAR FUN THIS HALLOWEEN

York’s Monks Cross Shopping Park will be hosting a series of free spooktacular activities this Halloween set to entertain families, children and new visitors to the shopping park.

Halloween at Monks Cross Shopping Park will be taking place on Saturday 26th October 2019 and will include the following activities; slime making workshop, face painting and spooky stilt walking characters Jack Skellington & Sally Nightmare.

Several of shops at the park will also have a variety of Halloween costumes to get the little shoppers ready for trick-or-treating.

Katherine Sharp, Centre Manager of Monks Cross, comments “We absolutely love this time of year and we are excited to host yet another Halloween event here at Monks Cross. We hope that it will be a great event to get children ready for Halloween the following week, and we hope to see you all in your best spooky outfits”.

Monks Cross is located on the north east outskirts of the city centre offering free parking and includes anchors Primark, Boots, River Island, Debenhams.
